Titles for Jesus

Peter is proclaiming the power of the glorified Christ.

That is what preaching is, pointing others to Christ.

Sinful Ignorance

Peter starts his sermon with two questions.

Peter means to convict of sin.

Sinful ignorance (1Cor 2:8; 1 Tim1:13; Numbers 15:28-31)

Call of Sovereign grace

Even this sin can be forgiven.

What happens upon repentant faith?

Sins erased, refreshment given.

Times of refreshing

Restoration of all things (Psalm 110:1; 1 Cor 15:24f)

Heed the prophet like Moses or be utterly destroyed. (v 22- 23) (Deut 18:15-19)

Will you not heed your own prophets?

Repentant faith begins the blessing and the restoration of all things.
