From Faith to Faith

March 2006                                                                                                                        VOL. XXII No. 3

Senior Pastor: Dr. Carl W. Bogue

Assistant Pastors: Rev. Bruce Buchanan & Rev. James Kobb

Policy reminder: Occasionally it is good to remind the congregation of church policies that impact us all and need to be followed for good order. One such concerns any action, publication, promotion which is officially sponsored by FPC or might appear to be. Meetings of church groups, study materials for Sunday School, youth groups, women’s groups, etc. must all receive Session approval. Gifts to the church, while well-intended, need to be received by Session to be sure that they are consistent with our beliefs, goals, etc. Also included in this would be individuals who may want to post something about a non-church activity, pass out brochures promoting something or petitions to be signed which might be placed on tables or circulated in person. No matter how innocent it is, or may seem, we urge you to run these things by Session. Remember, please request permission first. Your help in this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

March for Life: On January 22, 2006 I left on the bus for Washington, D.C., for the 33rd Annual March for Life. I got there on Monday, January 23rd at about 6:00 a.m. The rally was scheduled to begin at noon. Thousands of men, women, boys and girls come from all over the United States and across the ocean. U.S. Senators that are Pro-life were there to address the rally. President George W. Bush addressed the rally by live hookup. The March started at The Mall and 7th Street ended at the U.S. Supreme Court. There was two chants that were going around. One was “Who are we here for? THE BABIES! Who do we love? THE BABIES!” The other chant was "We are the Pro-lifers, the mighty, mighty Pro-lifers... everywhere we go people will know who we are." National Pro-Life Action Center, one of the event’s sponsors, estimated the crowd size at 225,000 to 250,000 people while D.C. police gave an estimate of 70,000. “This might be our last march!” exulted Steven Peroutka, chairman of the National Pro-Life Action Center, addressing a crowd of about 500 activists in the Russell Senate Office Building. “Our next march very well may be the march to celebrate the overturning of Roe v. Wade!” If there is any home schoolers that want to do an essay for the March For Life Contest see Andy Bogue. I hope that I can get more people to go in 2007 on the March for Life. – By Andy Bogue

Missionary Updates

David Jones – Currently in Pensacola, Florida: Since the political turmoil has not changed in Abidjan (Ivory Coast Africa) MTW decided not to relocate the Jones family’s team. The Wrights and Steketees are moving to another country in West Africa to continue the ministry of church planting and discipleship among the Muslims. Seeking the Lord’s direction the Jones family has been led to work in Central Asia where they will continue their commitment to serve the Lord in church planting among the Muslim people. Please pray for Bethan, their daughter, who is attending UWF in Pensacola and working towards a degree in nursing. She needs to find housing in the area before David and Marsha leave the area in June. Ian Jones, oldest son of David and Marsha, was recently married and is now living in Ft. Worth, Texas with his bride, Heather. Please continue to pray for the People of the Book churches in Abidjan. The Jones family has worked and lived there for thirteen years. It was difficult for them to say goodbye, but God is always faithful and will never leave His people.
