Vacation Bible School is just around the corner (Aug.) and we are beginning the planning process now. The second meeting will be June 18th following morning worship in the fellowship room. We need teachers and helpers (ages 13 and up) to volunteer their time and love in sharing the gospel. Our VBS is a fun time in the Word of God and our focus is always the Bible and one of our missionaries. If you haven’t been involved in VBS in the past or if you have taken a break for a few years, this year would be an excellent time to rejoin the staff! We can use full time (all five day) helpers or just one day helpers.
Ladies of Faith Church: Myrna Best is organizing a trip to the National First Ladies Museum in downtown Canton. Please see Myrna Best (in person, call or email her) with the day of the week that would work best for you. The tour will be sometime the last week of June. The tours are every hour starting at 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. (except for 11:30 a.m.) Prices are: Adults $7, Seniors $6 and children up to 17 years old $5. Space is limited to 15 persons so call Myrna early to reserve your spot! The group will be stopping for lunch before or after the tour depending on the time.
The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during morning worship on Sunday, June 4th. Please prepare your hearts and minds to approach the Lord’s table.
Prayer Chain Requests April 30: Please remember Berth Horvath in prayer this week. She is going to have her gallbladder removed. May 5: Please pray for Jim Bruder. He was admitted to the hospital Tuesday evening with another infection. Pray for strength and for the Lord to uphold him and Edana. May 5: Praise that Bertha Horvath came safely through her surgery! May 5: Matt Baugh, a PCA Missionary to Haiti, was killed recently in a motorcycle accident. He was married with five children. Please pray for the Lord’s comfort to his family. May 5: Please pray for Ruth Beckley. Ruth had two rough spots removed from her face which are being tested. She will know the results in seven to ten days. Please pray that it is not skin cancer. May 10: Please continue to pray for Jim Bruder. Jim is still in the hospital and expects to be there awhile. Tests are indicating that there is a new cancer on his liver. He is being moved to the cancer treatment ward of Akron General Hospital. May 12: Jim Bruder is coming home today. The results of the CT earlier in the week show six new lesions on the liver. Also, there are nodules in both lower lung lobes, and the renal mass has increased. Pray for comfort for him and the Lord’s will to be done. May 18: Two days ago Jim Bruder was taken to the emergency room and then admitted. Tomorrow he will be admitted to the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Road. The Bruder children are all gathering in town. May 21: Jim Bruder passed away in his sleep this morning. Please pray for the family to have comfort at this time. June Preaching Schedule

Ruling Elder James Bruder, a charter member of Faith Presbyterian Church died May 21, 2006. Funeral services were held at church on Thursday, May 25th. For some who are newer to our congregation, Jim was truly a founding father of Faith Presbyterian Church, and we have an indebtedness to him that many will not realize. Praise God for His faithfulness in not forsaking His promises. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1
