Session News

At its stated meeting on Saturday, January 17, Session reorganized for 2004. Elder Gordy Woolbert was elected president of the corporation, and Elder Dick Roach was elected Clerk of Session. Elder George Caler became chairman of the Evangelism and Visitation Committee. All other Session assignments remained the same.


Elder Woolbert was authorized to obtain a title search on the City of Akron property, and if the title is clear to make a counter-offer to the city for the property.

Nursery Schedule

This is the Sunday for which you have been assigned responsibility for the nursery during morning worship. If you are unable to provide care on your day please find a substitute from the list of volunteers.

Audrey Pepper, a long time member of Faith Church passed away December 31st. Her funeral was held here at Faith Church on Jan. 5th.

MISSIONS UPDATES

Geoff Donnan: Pray for him as he must learn a whole new field of computer programming technology. He needs to develop the Reformation Christian Missions website to offer downloaded field information and resources for their seminary and collage courses.


Sid and Louise Anderson: Pray for a missionary conference in South Carolina, and then their departure for the Czech Republic on February 13th. Also, pray for the Anderson’s adjustment to new work. Sid will replace Jerry Farnik for a year or two in the City of Zlin, while Jerry and Marilyn come to the US for theological study.


Pro-Life Pregnancy Services: While we do not financially support all of these agencies please remember the following agencies in your prayers: Alliance Pregnancy Center, Akron Pregnancy Services, Pregnancy Support Center of Stark County and Richland Pregnancy Services.


Beth Bogue: Pray for God’s peace and guidance regarding her family in Ohio. Pray for salvation of the three teenage Swan lads who came to Campaigners at the Aidrie church. Remember in prayer students in the US who will come to Scotland on the Geneva program for the spring term.

Prayer Requests

Dec. 18:               Bill and Bonnie Mallet’s 13 year old granddaughter Laura is going to the hospital today for a biopsy behind her left eye. She had cancer in that eye several years ago and it had to be removed. Please pray for the whole family and wisdom for the doctors.

Dec. 20:               Fern Richard’s sister, Chris, was admitted to the hospital with breathing problems and is having tests done. Chris has lung cancer, but is in remission. Please pray for healing and for her salvation.

Dec. 22:               Jeff Caler has chronic arthritis and is requesting prayer for the pain he has been suffering in his neck and skull.

Dec. 25:               Gloria Spencer, wife of Gary Spencer, passed away.

Dec. 29:               Bill and Bonnie Mallet’s granddaughter Laura has been diagnosed with cancer. Surgery is scheduled for Jan. 8.

Dec. 31:               The Bogue’s next door neighbors, the Well’s daughter, Carrie, will have a biopsy of a lump behind her ear soon.

Dec. 31:               Audrey Pepper received her long desired wish and went home to be with the Lord today.

Jan. 4:                  Mike Woodcock is having swelling in both feet and is in great pain. He is seeing a doctor tomorrow. Also, he is having outpatient surgery Jan. 13 to remove a small growth on his face which will include a biopsy.

Jan. 9:                  Former member of Faith Harriet McKenna’s sister just passed away. Pray for traveling safety and peace.

Jan. 9:                  Dr. Bogue and Rosalie are both under the weather. Carl has the flu and Rosalie seems weak from the chemo.

Jan. 10:                Bill and Bonnie’s granddaughter Laura did not have surgery this week. They are starting chemo instead.

Jan. 10:                              Rosalie Bogue is still very weak and her doctor admitted her to the hospital today.

Jan. 13:                              Dr. Bogue is still sick with the flu. Rosalie is still in the hospital. They are running tests to determine a course of action. Pray for healing and wisdom for the doctors.

Jan. 14:                              Mike Woodcocks face surgery went well and his legs are improving as well.

Jan. 14:                              Howard Curtiss will be having surgery Friday for an aneurysm. Pray for wisdom for the doctors.

Jan. 16:                              Rosalie Bogue’s brain tumors have grown. Please pray for Rosalie at this time to be pain free. Also, please pray for Dr. Bogue and the family as they make decisions on further care. Rosalie is in Room 158 at Barberton Hospital.

Jan. 16:                              Howard Curtiss’s surgery was postponed and they ran tests.
