Biographical Sketch of Carl Bogue
Dr. Bogue was born in Vincennes, Indiana, December 8,1939. He graduated
from Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Arts(A.B.)
degree in philosophy and history in 1961. He graduated from Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1965 cum laude with a
Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree with honors in history and theology;
and the Free Amsterdam in the Netherlands with a Doctorandus (Drs.) in
1969 and a Doctor of Theology (Th.D.) in 1975. He was ordained in 1969 in the United
Presbyterian Church of the United States of America (UPUSA) and
transferred to the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in 1975. Dr. Bogue was founding pastor of Faith
Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Akron, Ohio, since 1975. He is married with
four children and was for twenty years Principal of Westminster Academy, a
Christian day school associated with the church. He has served as a guest lecturer at Covenant
Theological Seminary, Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary,
Greenville Theological Seminary, Reformation International Theological
Seminary, Whitefield Theological Seminary, Geneva College, Grove City
College, and Christ College in Lynchburg, Virginia. He has also traveled
to Korea three times to lecture at the Missionary Training Institute for
the Presbyterian Church of Korea (Koshin). He has traveled in 24 countries
outside the United States. Some of his publications include Jonathan
Edwards and the Covenant of Grace (1975); Hole in the Dike:
Critical Aspects of Berkouwer's Theology (1976); The Genesis
Covenants (1986); The Scriptural Law of Worship (1987);
contributor, "The Theonomic Response to Principled Pluralism'" in God
